Please meet Lady Charlotte PonsonbyShe is garrulous and gossipy. While Her Majesty always wears black, Lady Ponsonby embraces flamboyance! Her many outfits and accessories, fans, parasols, reticules, reveal a fashion conscious woman of the 1880s. Her lack of timidity, lack of protocol and butterfly brain tick no royal boxes at all – but she is one fun-loving lady and therefore a perfect foil for the Queen! Together they bring history to life. They research it, and involve you in it. Of course, Lady Ponsonby is purely a figment of the imagination. Artistic licence aside, if you require an archetypical Lady-in-Waiting, this can be arranged. Jean Grange, professional renactor and Equity member, has been working as Lady in Waiting since Queen Victoria's "reincarnation". She is passionate about her wardrobe of superbly made outfits, which have been tailored to be seen at close quarters. On occasions when Lady Ponsonby is unable to accompany Her Madjesty, another member of the court will take her place. |
